“My Home Family
And, Why I use this photo on my website”
(Be sure to read this through for a special offer)

Well, before I tell you about the photo, and why I use it on my website perhaps I should first give you a little background about myself.  Let's start with me, the guy with no hair on the left.

Twenty-two years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever.  Let me tell you my story.

Back then I was a commercial photographer living on Long Island.  After finishing school at Farmingdale University, my wife, the pretty young lady on the right, began her career as a computer operator at Glen Cove Community Hospital.  As a part of her job description, she had to lift big heavy boxes of paper, which weighed up to 40 pounds, and more!  She had to do this in order to be competitive in a male-dominant job market.  Well as fate would have it, she lifted one of those heavy boxes one day, and threw out her back.  She had immediate excruciating pain.  She could hardly stand up straight.  Working in a hospital, she was in the right place, or so we thought.  She went right down to the emergency room where the doctor gave her muscle relaxors and was told to take three days off from work.  This seemed to be sound advice, and indeed her pain went away.  She was better!  What we didn't know was that her problems were only just beginning.  Over the next three years her back pain kept rearing it's ugly head.  Her pain was getting so bad that it prevented her from working for days at a time, and it kept her from doing the things she really enjoyed!  The pain was becoming more and more intense, and the episodes were much more frequent.  One day I came home from work, and found her lying on the floor with her coat still on.  She was crying because she had so much pain.  I felt so helpless!

A friend of ours convinces us to give their doctor a try.  This new doctor did an exam, took some films, and then “adjusted” my wife's spine.  The adjustment didn't hurt.  In fact, she said that it actually felt good.  After three years of suffering in pain, she finally got relief and she was able to enjoy life again!  What's even more amazing was that for the first time in her life that she was able to eat raw vegetables without getting indigestion.  The doctor said that this was because her digestive system was now working better because the nerves to her stomach were working better.  We really didn't understand this, but who were we to argue!

This new doctor asked me if I had any pain.  I told him, “I don't have any back or neck pain, but I do get severe headaches, cluster headaches.”  I would get severe headaches daily, sometimes twice a day, for two or three months.  Then they would go away for four or five months.  Doctors gave my Fiorinol, a very powerful medication that really threw me for a loop.  I hated taking it, but sometimes I had no choice.  All I needed to do was take a single pill when I felt the pain coming on, but if I took it too late, the whole bottle would not have helped.  My headaches were so bad that I could not do anything but lie in bed with a cold towel on my head, and pray that I would fall asleep.

This new doctor said he could help me, and it worked so well that I eventually went to chiropractic school myself.  And that's how it happened!”

Alex is the tough-guy in the photo.  Alex is your typical active boy.  He loves sports and has a trampoline in the back yard.  He likes to do flips, and frequently gets all twisted up.  He knows enough to ask me to adjust him when he feels like he may be getting sick, or sometimes just to stay “tuned up.”

The cute little girl in the photo is Nicole.  Unfortunately, Nicole was born with my “headache genes”.  Adjustments have made a huge difference in helping her through some pretty tough times, and her headaches are much less frequently with regular adjustments.  This is a blessing because now she is able to enjoy her childhood pain free.

It's strange how life is, because now people come to see me with their headaches and back pain.  Also they come to me with their neck pain, shoulder/arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, carpal tunnel syndrome, asthma, allergies, numbness in limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few.

Forty-eight million Americans no longer have health insurance, and those who do have found that their benefits are reduced. That's where my chiropractic comes in.  Many people find that they actually save money on their health care expenses by seeing a chiropractor.  Another way to save…studies show that chiropractic may double your immune capacity, naturally and without drugs.  The immune system fights colds, the flu, and other sicknesses.  So you may not be running off to the doctor as much.  This is especially important if you are self-employed.  And, an entire week of care in my office may cost what you could pay for one visit elsewhere.

You Benefit from an Amazing Offer- Look, it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to correct your healthYou are going to write a check to someone for your health care expenses, you may as well write one for a lesser amount for chiropractic.  Print out this page and bring it in to our office, you will receive my entire new patient exam for $17.  That's with all neurologic and orthopedic testing, and x-rays….the whole ball of wax.  This exam could cost you $150 elsewhere.  And, further care is very affordable and you'll be happy to know that I have affordable family plans.  You see I'm not trying to seduce you to come see me with this low start up fee, then to only make it up with high fees after that.  Further care is very important to consider when making your choice of doctor.  High costs can add up very quickly.

Great care at a great fee… Please, I hope that there's no misunderstanding about quality of care just because I have lower fees.  You'll get great care at a great fee.  My qualifications…I graduated at the top of my class at New York Chiropractic College.  I've been entrusted to take care of tiny babies to Olympic hopefuls.  After graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 1985 I practiced in Dutchess County for about two years.  I then moved my practice to Middletown.  I love to help people get well and stay healthy.  I just have that low fee to help more people who need care.

My assistants are Barbara, Yvette, and Sandra, and they are all really great people.  Our office is both warm and friendly, and we try our best to make you feel at home.  We have a wonderful service, at an exceptional fee.  Our office is called HOLST CHIROPRACTIC OFFICE and we are at 450 E.
